Questions owners actually ask
What happens to my data if I leave?
You take it all. A full export — stock, sales, customers, conversations — in standard files you can open anywhere, plus a complete copy of the database. You also get a perpetual licence to keep running the software yourself. This is written into the contract, not just said politely on a website.
Do I have to dump Shopify / Yoco / my current system?
No. We connect to what already works. Yoco stays at the counter, your online store stays online. OwnStack becomes the place where all of it finally makes sense together.
Is the fee really fixed? What if I open another shop?
The monthly fee covers your whole business as scoped at sign-up. Opening more branches is a conversation, not an automatic ratchet — and it will never be charged per user or per till.
Who do I phone when something breaks?
A person, not a ticket queue. For the first 60 days we're on site weekly; after that, support is included in the retainer and we know your shops by name.
Why not just use a cheaper app?
If a free app runs your shops well today, use it — genuinely. OwnStack is for owners who've outgrown the apps: too many branches, too many WhatsApp orders, and too much of their business locked inside someone else's platform.
Where does my data actually live?
In your own isolated database — not shared with our other clients. Hosted in South Africa, or, on the Intelligence tier, optionally on your own hardware ("the box under the counter").
